On 18–20 April 2018, the first authors workshop for the Sanitation and Wastewater Atlas of Africa was held in Kigali, Rwanda. Among other achievements, the workshop guided the authors on the key messages for their chapters, and in so doing avoided gaps and overlaps. The workshop helped further improve the content and general flow of the atlas, as well provided further guidance to the authors in their preparation of the final draft chapters.
