Wastewater sits at the crossroads of multiple policy areas: water management, circular economy, climate and environmental protection, and urban development.
The need for a suite of innovative solutions would be required to engage private and public sectors to address the di erent geographic, climatic, social, political and economic contexts.
It is acknowledged that there will not be a one- size- ts-all solution. There has been considerable innovation in the development of solutions since 2010, from decentralized low- tech-nature-based solutions to high-tech approaches for treating emerging pollutants and recovering resources safe for reuse.
