Effects : • Loss of biodiversity including endemic birds e.g the Papyrus yellow warbler. This wetland is one of the Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Uganda. • Change in micro-climate (fog and mist formation greatly altered) • Change in hydrology in the area. The conversion happened “instantly” and impacts are highly significant.
