Poghosyan, themost probable type of cancer that originates because of sulfur dioxide pollution is the lung cancer, as the concentrations of lead, zinc, copper, molybdenum, arsenic, iron, manganese, nickel, vanadium, chrome, cadmium and fl uoride in the soil and water resources (the environment) of the area contribute to the origination of such diseases. These elements penetrate into the human body by food, water and air and serve as the agents of diseases.
