GEO ALAVERDI: ENVIRONMENT AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
The bad road communication, with the anticipated increase in the quantity of (permanent and transit) vehicles, the use of low quality fuel, as well as the improper condition of the vehicles will bring to continuous increase in the quantity of polluting emissions into the atmosphere. The insuf fi cient capacity to construct highways for transit vehicles, to avoid them entering the city, assumes development in the technical means for implementing control over the quantity of car emissions. The physical-geographical location of the city allows very little circulation of air fl ows and contributes to the accumulation of hazardous emissions, which is well displayed at the fi gure on proliferation of pollution. Moreover, the relatively high level of humidity in the area, and the high contents of sulfur and other chemical compounds can bring formation of acid rains, thus the reduction of emissions becomes an essential issue. Theexistingatmosphericandmeteorological conditionscanresult inrespiratory problems, allergies, epidemics (especially, droplet-diffused diseases).
