How many people are working/managing waste services at the municipal level? How many are male, how many are female and what is the age range? From your experience, do women and men have different skills, knowledge and expertise regarding waste management and waste issues? Can you give provide examples?

What roles do men and women undertake?

Does your company have any policies in place to actively encourage women or men to work in certain positions? (Gender quota or policy?) Are there any specific requirements? Is there an opportunity to progress in specific roles or to change position?

What are the safety measures at work, how are they communicated and to whom?

How do you plan your activities? • Do you undertake community/household consultations and/or listen to feedback? • How are such consultations planned and carried out? (i.e. do they consider both men’s and women’s ability to participate? Is there a gender balance within your own team?) • Do you organize town hall meetings and/or surveys to gather the opinions of your co-workers, who work on the ground to collect recycling materials and process them at the recycling at the facilities, in order to improve the service?
