Support to UNEP / DEWA networking and capacity building in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus (countries, regions and cities) Regional workshop “Modelling instability in the Caucasus region” organized by the Joint Research Centre, which serves as a reference centre of science and technology for the European Union. The workshop was designed to finalize the report A Spatial model of Instability in the Caucasus region . [Ispra (Italy), January]; Consultations on urban assessments in Alaverdi and Lake Sevan [Yerevan (Armenia), February]; Workshop for Ukraine, Moldova and Romania on environmental cooperation in the Danube delta region [Izmail (Ukraine) April, 40 participants]; Study tour in Hungary on environmental monitoring, reporting and sustainable mining for Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine) & GEOcities [Budapest, (Hungary), April, 20 participants]; Working meeting of stakeholders within the framework of the ENVSEC project on “Cross border Assessment and Transboundary Cooperation for Management of the Drisviaty/Druksiai Lake Basin”. Participants included representatives from Lithuania, Latvia and Belarus. Division of Regional Cooperation and Representation (DRC) on DRC A1: Substantive servicing of intergovernmental meeting - Support to EECCA / SEE countries in the framework of the Environment and Security initiative (ENVSEC). DEWA C4: Training of experts from Governmental and partner institutions data collection, research, analysis, monitoring, integrated environmental assessment, early warning and information networking to enhance their institutional and technical capacities in these areas as specified in the Bali Strategic Plan.
