GRID-Arendal: 30 Years of Making a Difference

In conjunction with UN Environment, a report on video gaming, Playing for the Planet: How video Games can Deliver for People and the Environment , as an emerging communication medium to reach billions was launched at UNEA-4 and the Gamers Development Conference. This document was very well received and the World Bank immediately commissioned GRID-Arendal to release an update to the report. GRID-Arendal published the results of a study on knowledge gaps about rangelands and pastoralism in a report entitled A case of benign neglect: Knowledge gaps about sustainability in pastoralism and rangelands . The report was launched at UNEA-4. GRID-Arendal staff delivered lectures to the course Coastal Ecology and Global Change in the Anthropocene , which is part of the Master’s Programme in Coastal Ecology at the University of Agder. GRID-Arendal also organised field work at the Raet National Park.
