A Public Environmental Information Centre was opened in Osh in 2004, and plans are underway for a similar centre in Khujand as well as possibly in the Uzbek part of the valley. The centres will also become natural platforms for disseminating ENVSEC information locally and stimulating feedback and support, for instance in connection with local projects such as as- sessment and management of industrial risks.

In addition ENVSEC will provide assistance to the environ- mental committees by developing a web portal about the Ferghana valley.
