Researcher Svanaug Lunde from University of Stavanger talked about “playful learning” and how it supports development of young children. The event was announced at NRK Radio Sør and covered in an article published by Arendals Tidende in March 17. The event was well attended with an audience representing kindergarten and primary school staff and university researchers within the field of education. The feedback was positive and we are happy to see that the event series is well-received in our local community. All events will be recorded and will be made accessible to the public. Grønn Dag, 26 May GRID-Arendal, in collaboration with Arendal Kommune and Klimapartnere, organized Grønn dag (Green Day), a local event started in 2017 to promote awareness on sustainable living among individuals and families in the local community. More than 20 organizations and businesses took part in demonstrating green solutions. In conjunction with this event and in support of UN Environment’s campaign Beat Plastic Pollution, an exhibition of more than 100 children’s paintings on the

theme “Stopp plastmonsteret” was held at the Arendal Library. A member of the Communications team also delivered a presentation about marine litter. Arendal Internasjonale Marked, 16-17 June GRID-Arendal provided communications support to the 25th anniversary celebration of Internasjonalt Marked in Arendal. Video messages were produced and disseminated to promote the event which resulted in high visibility and reach in our social media channels. Internasjonale Dager Since 2006, GRID-Arendal has taken part in the annual celebration of Internasjonale Dager in Arendal. It is a week-long event in late October that features seminars, exhibitions, panel discussions, movie screenings and other activities targeting students and other audiences to create awareness on the chosen theme of the celebration, to facilitate dialogue and to promote action. Internasjonale Dager 2018 featured 12 events focusing on issues related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals to promote awareness about the importance of these goals.
